N. P.: N. P.. 1725. 8vo (20.5 cm x 14 cm). Segunda Impression. S Soft Cover. Good. In Spanish. Undated, with no place or publisher noted, but the first edition was published in 1552, and this printing appears to be perhaps from the early eighteenth century. Ano de 1548 in old pencil writing on title page. Juan de Vergara was a Spanish Humanist who was tried and imprisoned for his views during the Inquisition. The title roughly translates to: Treaty of the Eight Proposed Questions of the Temple by Illmo Sir Duke of the Infantadgo. Original marbled softcover, 94 pages. Printed on watermarked paper, with the watermark mainly obscured by the binding, but which appears to be an orb with a cross on top with perhaps three intials below - very hard to make out. The text includes Questiones de Templo de Salomon, Tabla de lo Contenido en este Tratado, Carta del Doctor Juan de Vergara A Geronymo Zurita, and Respuesta de Geronymo Zurita. Covers badly worn and chipped, with some very faint dampstaining that does not extend past the first text page, many corner folds but no significant chips or tears, almost no foxing, one area of worming throughout the book that manages to stay almost exclusively between the lines of text, the worming being one tiny spot for the last half of the book, with elongated holes in one horizontal line further forward in the book. One page has some finger smudging.
