Lacks the scarce DJ. 1927. First Edition. Hardcover. Thirty-nine black and white plates of drawings by the author/artist. Each is captioned and depicts a tree or trees showing fanciful human, animal, or supernatural characteristics that one might imagine while looking at trees in silhouette: quite creative and clever. Collected from the author/artist's drawings that appeared in the Saturday Evening Post magazine. Quarter cloth with patterned, rust-colored rice paper over boards. Title in black on spine. A nicer copy than VG- would imply ; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 39 pages .
