Book has brown binding with gilt printing on the spine; it is clean, straight & tight; corners and spine ends are bumped and showing some wear; still a very nice copy. Pages are clean, without any marks or tears. Dust jacket is price intact, illustrated. It is somewhat faded, soiled and has wear and chipping of edges with some edge tears that are internally mended. Translated by John Russell, book is illustrated with 48 pages of photographs and 48 line drawings and is the story of the author's experiences among some of the most primitive of the Amerindian tribes in Brazil and the Amazon basin. ; B/W Photos & line drawings; 8.5 x 5.5 inches; 404 pages .
