Illustrated dj little worn edges and label removed aroung bottom spine. Reinforced binding. Illustration on front cover of book. Probably library binding, but no library marks; a nice, clean, tight copy, with nice inscription "To Edda Montgomery. It's nice to sign this book to you - all best wishes. Jesse Stuart Feb. 7th 1975", which is probably close to publication date. .

Unfortunately often misunderstood to mean 8 volumes.
inscribed : a short note written by the author or a previous owner in the beginning of a book, generally accompanied by a signature.
