This volume contains letters of their missions to the Eastern Mediterranean, especially Greece, and contains a folding map entitled Partie de Santorin showing several islands and an "Isle Nouvelle" consisting of an active volcano. Full eighteenth century binding in calf with red spine label, raised spine bands, gilt decorated compartments, [2], 173, [3]p. Name of Monsieur Desbois mounted at bottom of title page, inscription on verso of front free endpaper in French. Some rubbing to the corners and spine ends, joints good, text block sound with no loosened pages, pages very clean with two margin chips, faint dampstains to the lower inner margins of the first 75 pages, well away from the text. A clean, sound and attractive copy.
