No dust jacket. Grey endpapers. Top page edges gilt. The unpaginated, 8-page Appendix is present but has not been sewn in. A few pages are unopened. This is number 659 of a limited edition of 750 copies. Numerous translations of the manuscript known as the Greek Anthology have been made. The introduction to this privately printed edition of the section called the Amatory Epigrams is signed "M.S. Buck, Philadelphia, 1916" suggesting that this edition is the work of Mitchell S. Buck. It claims to be the first English translation of the Amatory Epigrams and was translated from a French translation, "Anthologie Greque, Traduite sur le texte publie d'apres le manuscrit palatin par Fr. Jacobs." In Very Good- Condition: leather is rubbed; lacking ½ cm. (¼ inch) at head of spine; pages are clean and tight. An attractive edition of this English translation of short Greek verses on love.. Very Good.
