An account of anti-Catholic riots, ostensibly let by Lord George Gordon, that spread in London and threatened the House of Commons and Bank of England. Gordon was tried for treason, but acquitted of treason and merely considered a rabble-rousing idiot. Green cloth on boards, gilt title to spine. Brief bibliography. Reprint of a Longmans, Green & Co edition. 1959[1958]. Assumed 1st with no additional printings noted. A very clean copy, conservatively VG+. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 192 pages .
