Author's 4th book and the last book Mr. Millar wrote under his own name before using the pseudonyms of either John Ross MacDonald or Ross MacDonald. The book is bound in light brown with dark blue printing and dull blue upper page edges. It is straight, clean, has no handwriting in it, and no wear to the printing on the binding. There is very slight shelf-wear to the binding edges and a few pinpoint sized brownish flecks to the lower front pastedown/end page. The dustjacket is bright, clean, unfaded and price intact ($2.50 net), and quite attractive with its surrealistic illustration on the front panel. It has a few very tiny edge nicks, and a few tiny surface rubs, primarily along the spine folds and at the spine ends/flap fold ends. Altogether a very handsome example of this scarce book and even more scarce uncoated paper dustjacket. .
