The history of Francis McClintock Churchman the the successive generations of his family living on the "Hillside" homestead and Beech Grove Farm in Franklin Township, six miles Southwest of Indianapolis Indiana. Covers homestead life, farming, local travel, greenhouse operation, housebuilding, and gardening during the early-to-late 1800s, and is enjoyably detailed. F. M. Churchman went on to be a principal in the Fletcher and Churchman bank, later to become American Fletcher National Bank of Indianapolis, Indiana. Appendix expands on the history and cronology of the Churchman family, and lists births, deaths, and children. Black and white photos. No place, publisher, or date. Assumed to be self-published by the author, printed in Indiana, and first edition. Plastic comb-bound.
