Author is the benefactor of a dance scholarship at the University of Georgia. Foreword by Ruth St. Denis. More a book of belles lettres: the poems, paintings, and sculpture all relate to dance as an art form. The twelve dances and their accompanying music have detailed descriptions and are mainly group dances to be performed outdoors, for May Day celebrations as an example. Definitely paints a picture of how artistic dance was viewed in the mid-1930s. Liberally illustrated with b&w photos of sculpture and dancers engaged in each of the twelve dances. Illustrated covers with argentum design and title. Original price of $3.50 ink stamped on front endpaper. No DJ, as-issued. Not foxed. Clean and VG. ; B&W Photographs; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 211 pages .
